Privacy policy
This statement explains which personal data TapeNote processes, why, for how long, and which rights you have.
Last updated: 2 October 2026
1. Who we are
TapeNote is a product of StreetWise Solutions (Chamber of Commerce number to be filled in], [address to be filled in]). We are the controller for the data on this website and in TapeNote Cloud. Contact: [info@tapenote.online.
2. The desktop app without an account
Without an account the app processes everything on your own PC. We receive nothing: no audio, no transcripts, no usage statistics.
3. This website
The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Our hosting provider (Vercel) processes technical data such as your IP address to serve and protect the site; those logs are kept briefly. Legal basis: legitimate interest (a safe, working site).
4. The waitlist
- Data: your e-mail address (required), and if you fill them in your name, role or job and what you want to use TapeNote for. Also the language of the form, the page you came from, and the times you signed up and confirmed.
- Purpose: asking for your confirmation, inviting you to the beta and e-mailing you about the beta.
- Legal basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by writing to info@tapenote.online.
- Retention: unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 30 days. Confirmed sign-ups are kept until the end of the beta, or sooner if you ask.
5. TapeNote Cloud
- Data: your account (e-mail address, name, sign-in method), the transcripts and metadata you sync, audio if you upload it, share links, summaries and an audit log of irreversible actions.
- Purpose: providing the service you use. Legal basis: the agreement with you.
- Retention: until you delete it. The trash keeps items for 30 days. Deleting your account wipes all your data.
- What we do not do: sell your data, use it for advertising or use it to train AI models.
6. Sub-processors and transfers
We work with Supabase, Vercel, AWS (Bedrock), RunPod and Postmark. These are American companies; we use their EU regions where possible and have a data processing agreement with standard contractual clauses with each of them. Postmark sends e-mail from the US. The full overview is on Privacy and security.
7. Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Workspaces are isolated from each other in the database. The desktop app stores your sign-in encrypted. Log files never contain transcript text or audio.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data. Write to info@tapenote.online; we reply within a month. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the authority in your country.
9. Changes
If we change this statement, you will see it in the date at the top. For important changes we e-mail cloud users in advance.
